Adobe

Adobe Spark (now Express) is a web tool that helps anyone create beautiful content.

We wanted to ease designers and non-designers alike into creating beautiful content by sharing premade templates, developing a smart recommendation machine-learning system for ingredients, and through partnerships with influential artists who’d engage our users through educational content and design challenges.

Our work was mainly in product development, but we also worked on marketing strategies and campaigns, as well as in-app content design.

Initiatives included:
- SEO Strategy
- Designing Templates In-App
- Influencer Marketing Campaigns
- Creative Premium Account Growth Strategies
- Updating Metadata for Machine Learning Efforts
- Localization

Responsibilities

Ingredients with Best Practices
We researched, developed, and implemented creative ingredients (shapes, fonts, stickers, icons, etc.) to help our users design unique materials. This also included monitoring design trends to expand our ingredients.

Search Engine Optimization
We narrowed down the top searched use cases and added thousands of templates with searchable metadata to beef up our visibility when Googled.

Information Architecture
We used artificial intelligence to organize information compiled from our users' design choices along with the metadata from ingredients in templates, to build a database. The database is used to make user recommendations while they build, for a smarter and more efficient creative experience.

Creative Growth
To increase conversion to premium accounts we built paid templates for highly searched use cases. Paid templates included:
- Exclusive ingredient Packs
- Premium Font Packs
- Ran Design Challenges
- Created Exclusive Ingredients for Influencer Marketing Campaigns

Quality Assurance and Vendor Management
Spark Post had over 5,000 templates constantly flowing into the site created by an in-house team and offshore team. The in-house team would comb through all the material for any spelling/grammar issues, provide design critique, as well as assign use cases to build our machine learning system.

Localization
As Spark continued to grow, we worked on localizing templates for new international markets. We completed translations from English to French, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and German. I helped create assets in those different languages for the Apple App Store, as well as monitored vendors translating current templates to ensure they maintained our design standard.
