Discover Financial Services’ responsive browser and iOS/Android apps help you manage your financials anywhere.

As the only team of UX architects, UI designers, copywriters, and product managers at FCB Chicago, we were given the task of overseeing Discover’s private side experiences for responsive browsers and the iOS/Android applications. Discover's business development team consistently added features and functions to the tool and also had the initiative to improve existing flows. Our challenge was designing, testing, and executing those changes to the product.

I worked on traditional marketing but my responsibilities were mostly comprised of digital web and app projects. Initiatives included:
- Design System Redesign, Management, and Distribution
- Improvements to Overall ADA Compliance
- Creating Complex Transaction Flows
- Print/Digital Marketing Campaigns

🏆 I started as an Art Director and was promoted to Senior Art Director after my first year of employment. My new role had an emphasis on leadership and managing others, as well as influencing strategy.

Responsibilities

Global Rebrand of Browser UI Kit
- Designed Responsive Browser and iOS/Android App UI Elements
- Created a PDF Guide for Distribution
- Programmed UI Patterns on Sketch to be Customizable
- Managed Updates to the Sketch Pattern Library
- Trained Four Other Agencies on the Guide
- Ran Usability Tests on UI Patterns
- Managed Bug-Fixing and Quality Assurance with the Outsourced Development Team
- Pitched New UI Patterns and Colors to Improve ADA Compliance

Site Redesign
Redesigned the Discover Financial Services and Discover Global Network sites (and all subsidiary pages) which contained over 260 screens in total. After almost 6 months we concluded the final edits in Zeplin and began developing.

Product Development
Before the rebrands, the bulk of my work was building, testing, and conducting quality assurance checks of various flows within the product. Some of those flows include:
- Account Center Home
- Balance Transfer
- Cash Back Bonus Match
- Freeze Account
- Internal Revenue Unit
- Rewards Screens
- Spend Analyzer
- Web Targeting Placements
- Flash Landing Page

ADA Compliance
To make sure we were providing the same experience for all users I led the charge on ensuring font sizes, color contrast ratios, line spacing, and copywriting adjustments were made according to the most updated Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Traditional Print and Digital Marketing
Discover Global Network and Discover Card Services required more traditional advertising projects like:
- International Merchant Service Agreement Campaign (mail promos with stickers and brochures)
- Discover Amazon Integration (digital banners and Amazon ad placement)
- TikTok campaigns
- Superbowl TV Advertisment
