Quaker Oats
Quaker Oats partnered with the NFL to run an ad campaign in Chicago, IL.
After my internship with All Terrain Experiential Marketing Agency, they would hire me for freelance projects. The ask for this activation was to create a design for two married train cars highlighting the partnership between Quaker Oats and the NFL. This project had a quick turnaround of about two and a half weeks until it needed to be sent to the vendor for printing without a rush fee.
The project involved:
- Brainstorming Sessions with Clients
- Three Design Iterations of the External Train Graphic Wrapping
- One Design Pitch for an Internal Graphic Wrapping
- Print-Ready Production Files
- Organizing Prints with Vendors
- Following Brand Guidelines
🚃 When I got back to Chicago I ran into it live and NOT even on purpose! Definitely the most exciting train ride I have ever taken.
Responsibilities
Design
The ask was to incorporate the logos and type lockups of Quaker Oats, product shots, and add in the NFL partner logos, on 6 married Chicago CTA trains. It was a fun project balancing 2 different brands, making them stand out but still work together.
Renderings
Part of the design process was to share renderings of what the activation might look like in real life. Using the specs on the CTA website, I made renderings of the inside and the outside of the trains, the inside looking like a kitchen in the morning, and the outside with the NFL imagery.
Print-Ready Documents
When the graphic wrapping was approved I had to send over a print-ready file. While this might seem simple, large-scale graphics can be quite finicky. I created and confirmed that all wrappings were the correct colors and resolution and coordinated with the vendors to get it printed.
